Carl's Corner - Adventures in Amateur Golf

 It is my opinion that I would have to play this shot as it lies and would not get relief. We did instruct this player to play it as it lies, then play a second ball with an appropriate drop no closer tot he hole.  The result in both cases was the same so it truly did not matter. If you get in a tough spot on the course and do not know the rule.  Play two balls and seek assistance at the pro shop or league leaders. Bonus for the day was I hit a left handed shot with an upside down 56 degree wedge.  I put it right into the middle of the fairway.  I should have taken a photo of that lie up against a tree. 

 I had a wonderful time playing at Barton Creek Lakeside on July 10, 2022.  The people I played with were great, but I experienced my opponents playing music from their cart.  The good news is that it did not effect my play.  I did ponder the ethics of it and what should I do if the music bothers me. Team in cart 1 were playing Blues music.  The person I was riding with decided to play country music on their phone.  I was tempted to blast some heavy metal (just kidding). Fortunately, this was a causal skins oriented event.  What would be appropriate if the outing was a bit more competitive?  If the music does bother me, I think it would be OK for me to request that the music be turned off. Any strong opinions?
